Weekend Cooking

"Downstairs, Susan had a full cooked breakfast on the go, with sausage spitting in the pan and floured tomatoes sizzling beside them, eggs and toast and juice and coffee that smelled sharp and rich and heavenly and brought my eyes more fully open."

I've never fried tomatoes. I'm trying to imagine the taste. This seems like a good recipe. I would like to try it.http://allrecipes.com/recipe/red-juicy-herb-fried-tomatoes/

Cat Thursday

I love calico cats. Have never owned one. When I see one, it always looks so sweet and docile. This pattern is really different. Makes me think of a bandit.:)http://www.truebookaddict.com/2014/03/cat-thursday-random-cuteness.html#disqus_thread

Weekend Cooking

This is my beef stew. We had it for dinner Friday night. I used Idaho potatoes, beef cubes and frozen mixed vegetables. I don't flour my beef cubes. I brown them automatically without the flour. The other is corn bread. It was delicious. I think.:)bethfishreads

Not much reading done this week. Not as much as I wanted....I did finish a child's book of poetry. We Troubled The Waters by Ntzosake Shange. Now I'm trying to finish up Laura English by Bornstein for NetGalley.
I'm also reading Revolution In World Missions by K.P. Yohannan. Received this one for free on Twitter. It's very interesting.

I'm also finishing up, maybe two pages left, in Brutal Imagination by Cornelius Eady. This is a poetry book.

Teaser Tuesday

"She was going to be an actress. She had won staring parts in all her school's dramatic productions, and occasionally Bertie cast her in a minor role at the playhouse. ..She especially liked the plays of Tennessee Williams and spent hours in front of her mirror, acting out speeches from The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire."http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com

It's Monday. What Are You Reading?

I finished "My Life as a Furry Red Monster" by KEVIN CLASH.
I'm reading and finishing up with Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery. I know it's far from the holidays. I just didn't get enough holiday reading in during 2013. Plus, thinking of Christmas makes me feel happy. http://www.bookjourney.wordpress.com
