Wondrous Words

(a) U.S. politics. the dividing of a state, county, etc., into election districts so as to give one political party a majority in many districts while concentrating the voting strength of the other party into as few districts as possible.
(b) division into hostile subgroups: division of an area, region, or group into smaller and often mutually hostile units

  1. Great words today. I knew a few of them but balkanized is totally new to me. I think it's kind of sad.
