Wondrous Word

tabletmag.com/jewish-arts-and-culture
"I need socks,” Jamaica Kincaid said, standing in the doorway of her clapboard Vermont home, barefoot and clutching her laptop. She went upstairs to fetch a pair and asked that I wait in her living room, which was cluttered in a cozy way, the walls filled with books and every surface covered with tchotchkes—menorahs and tropical-colored paintings and miniature brass sculptures."

 tchotchkes chotch·ke
 [ chóchkə ]
  1. trinket: a trinket or piece of bric-a-brac

  6. I'm new to WWW - I'm loving all this amazing word power and the new book possibilities :-)
Curiously I've come across this word before but for the life of me cannot remember where.
I love the guttural sounds you make when trying to pronounce it - it's a full mouth experience!
